The Honor Board is Accepting Applications
Sep. 30, 2009 by ngarrett
The Honor Board is now accepting applications from the junior class for two new member openings on the Board for the upcoming academic year. The new members chosen from the class of 2011 will serve on the board for a period of FOUR semesters.
The “Standards of Academic Conduct” that constitute the Honor Code are enforced by students by means of the Honor Board. The Board, which adjudicates violations of the Honor Code, exists for several related reasons:
• to extend the protection of fair process to students alleged to have violated the Honor Code
• to ensure that sanctions are commensurate with violations
• to promote uniformity in the handling of cases
The Honor Board also serves as a constant reminder of institutional values. Initial adjudication of alleged violations of the Honor Code must issue from the Honor Board. Please refer to the student handbook for more information: (http://www.wesleyan.edu/studenthandbook/3_honorsystem.html)
If you are interested, please complete an application form and submit it to Lorna Scott, Clerk for the Honor Board, lscott@wesleyan.edu no later than Friday, October 16, 2009.
If you have any questions, you may contact the Senior Co-Chairs of the Honor Board:
