Internationally renowned poet and translator MICHAEL PALMER is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry, including Sun, At Passages, and most recently Company of Moths. Palmer has worked with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company for over thirty years and has collaborated with many visual artists and composers. A prose work, The Danish Notebook, was published in 1999, and a volume of his selected essays and talks, Active Boundaries, was released in July of 2008.

The recipient of both the Shelley Memorial Award from the Poetry Society of America and the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets, Palmer has also been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Fund Writer’s Award, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Born in Manhattan, Michael Palmer has lived in San Francisco since 1969.
